I recently purchased TU v5.51 and it takes about 25 minutes before the program is loaded. I am using a PC with Vista and have tried previous TU versions before and never had this problem.
The MCafee "mcshield.exe" process consumes all CPU time and locks the computer while the total uninstall is launched (is scanned by realtime protection). Disabling the realtime protection will make the Total Uninstall to run as it should.
When McAfee's realtime protection is turned off it does work properly, however I then get the McAfee warning messge "Your my computer is at risk". It does not seem right that I should have to do this whenever I have to run this version of Total Uninstall.
This is a problem with the antivirus protection and not with Total Uninstall. It is possible that there will be a fix for this in a future antivirus update if enough MCafee users report the problem. Just search on the Internet about this and you will find that many MCafee users have the same problem with the realtime protection (slowing down the programs startup).
