How to change default analysis profile, or select one?

Postby wkintz on Sat Apr 24, 2010 7:33 pm

I've just been using the program for a short while. Looking at the Analysis profiles under Options, it appears that the "advanced analysis profile" looks at more areas of the registry than the "Normal analysis profile". I understand that most of the time "normal" is fine. I am not sure how to change from one analysis profile to another. If I want to make one selection the default (in options), that comes up with the program, "advanced" rather than "Normal" how do I select that "advanced analysis profile" will be used? Can the selection of the analysis profile type be done on a case by case basis ( for each install individually) rather than setting a default in "options"? Thanks you. Sincerely, wkintz.

The default analysis profile is used automatically when you select a program from the list or press the "Analyze" button. To use another analysis profile press the drop down arrow of the "Analyze" tool button and select the other entry (the default profile is bold) to (re)start the analysis.
In the Options dialog, there is a checkbox "Default" on the general page after you select the profile.

I recommend you to check the detected changes when using the Advanced profile, and if it is the case select manually the "Normal" profile for a safer analysis.
